Background to the New Zealand Trades Directory.Welcome to the nztrades directory, this site has been developed to give access to any contractors and tradesmen that work in New Zealand who wish to have a listing on this web site. It's primary aim is to provide links to companies and organisations involved in the New Zealand Service Sector. The secondary aim is to allow access to our web design and hosting facilities for those organisations that wish to use that service. We hope to expand this site as more and more organisations take advantage of having a starting point for people to search for a contractor within their local area. The industries found on this site are involved daily in the improvement of New Zealand's economy, providing employment for people in numerous industries. These organisations primary role is to maintain the country's infrastructure within the Construction and Contracting sectors. To provide the vital services needed by a progressive, modern economy going through rapid changes as we, as a nation, become more wired to the rest of the world.

Company ProfileThe My Net Team who are involved with the design and maintenance of this site, come from within the Construction sector - both Civil Engineering and the Building Industry. On numerous occasions people have questioned or asked where the best place to find a construction or contracting organisation on the Internet. Clients have voiced their opinion on the value of our local search engines or sites and have expressed that there is either too many options or not enough - a matter of feast or famine.
The Managing Director of the My Net Team (Jeremy Palmer) has actively been involved with web design using FrontPage 98™ for several years, developing his skills designing sites from basic one page webs to corporate sites. Jeremy started designing a web site using the resources supplied by Free Hosting sites like Geocities, Tripod, Xtra and DJ Cafe- (all good small site services) but was annoyed by the continuous pop-ups and only being able to have free 10mb when some of the corporate sites being developed were over 20mb.
He progressed into using MS Publisher™ but found that too restrictive and now designs mostly using FrontPage98™ with some specialist work with programmes like Macromedia Fireworks 2™ and numerous graphic and gif animation programmes. The whole idea of building websites was a challenge between Jeremy and his older brother Chris (designs accountancy programmes) who developed an awesome family site some years ago.
Jeremy put to good use his design skills gained from being involved in both the Military and Civil Engineering fields and the construction industry where he used to design and build spec houses.
When Jeremy is not involved designing websites he is actively employed as a marketing consultant and technical director of Internet Innovations (Australasia) Ltd otherwise known as ekiwi. He is also involved as a risk management consultant with a National consultancy company for Summit Systems Ltd .
